Jeroen Habets is DBS Think Tank Rising Star Finalist
ReTune researcher Dr. Jeroen Habets has been selected as a finalist in the DBS Think Tank Rising Star Junior Investigator Challenge, hosted by the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health. The challenge highlights the work of outstanding early-career scientists who are advancing the field of deep brain stimulation (DBS).
DBS is a rapidly evolving area of neuroscience that has transformed treatment approaches for a range of neurological and psychiatric disorders—from Parkinson’s disease to depression. Continued progress in this field relies heavily on the contributions of junior researchers who bring innovative ideas, advanced methods, and interdisciplinary collaboration to the table.
The DBS Think Tank Rising Star Challenge was created to recognize and support the next generation of scientific leaders in DBS research. As a finalist, Dr. Habets is acknowledged for his exceptional work at the interface of clinical neuroscience and computational modeling. Within the ReTune consortium, his research focuses on network-based approaches to understanding DBS mechanisms and improving patient-specific therapy.
The annual DBS Think Tank serves as an international forum for sharing cutting-edge research, shaping future directions, and strengthening collaboration within the global neuromodulation community.
