Video portrait of Dr Lucia Feldmann, Postdoc and Clinician Scientist at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin
Dr. Lucia Feldmann is a postdoctoral researcher and Clinician Scientist at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and member of the ReTune project. She is working in the Movement Disorder and Neuromodulation Unit at the Department of Neurology.
Her research focusses on patients with movement disorders, particularly those with Parkinson´s disease who receive deep brain stimulation therapy.
Dr. Feldmann’s work involves intracranial electrophysiology in these patients, aiming to identify biomarkers that represent symptoms and are modulated through therapy. The ultimate goal of her research is to develop adaptive stimulation techniques that can provide individualized therapy, automatically adjusting to the current disease state.
As a young medical doctor and researcher, Dr Feldmann combines translational research in neuroscience with clinical work as a neurologist. She is passionate about building international collaborations and networks.
In addition Dr. Feldmann has a keen interest in combining science and art. This is evident in her involvement with the exhibition “Brain in Science and Art” in Berlin.
